Trump vows to fight unconstitutional impeachment New lawyer: It’s a privilege

The National Archives reports that Trump announced a new legal team to fight partisan impeachment deliberations.

A new statement released by the former president’s office reveals President Trump’s new legal team, the report said.

Following reports that President Trump is parting ways with his previously announced legal team, the former president’s office announced new attorneys, David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr.

President Trump’s statement explained, “The 45th President, Donald J. Trump, today announced that highly respected trial attorneys David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr. will lead his impeachment defense legal team, bringing national visibility and significant trial experience in high-profile cases to the effort,” and “

“Notably, Sean is already working with the 45th president and other advisors in preparation for the upcoming trial, and both Sean and Custer agree that such an impeachment would be unconstitutional,” the statement continued, “a fact that 45 senators voted unanimously to agree to last week.”

The office was referring to a move by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who argued that it would be unconstitutional to try to impeach the former president after he leaves office. Paul forced a vote on the matter, with 45 Senate Republicans voting yes. If this vote (number) is maintained, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) will fall far short of the two-thirds majority needed to convict President Trump.

In a statement, Sean said, “It is an honor to represent the 45th president, Donald J. Trump, and the Constitution of the United States. “

Castor added, “I consider it a privilege to represent the 45th president, and the strength of our Constitution will be tested as never before in history. It is powerful and resilient. It is a document for the ages that will again and forever triumph over partisanship.”
