Currently the National Republican Organization has taken action to punish 10 Republican House members who agreed with Trump’s impeachment, showing that Trump is still influential in the Republican Party grassroots and organization despite leaving office.
Rice also believes that this will inevitably affect him after the primary election, and even affect the seat, the future of the district is afraid of the emergence of the same party challengers.

Rice has long participated in the Trump campaign and supported Trump’s policies. Rice’s hometown of Holly County Republican Party leaders Perdue (Dreama Perdue) said that because of Rice and received hundreds of letters of complaint, local voters strongly support Trump. Perdue said Rice told her he was voting according to his conscience, but she believes voters trusted Rice to represent them and support Trump before voting for him, not for Rice’s own conscience.
