The HNA Group, which is rumored to have “close ties” with Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan’s Family, broke the news of “bankruptcy restructuring” on Friday (29). It has been widely rumored that HNA is actually the sphere of influence of Wang Qishan’s family, and that the group’s top executives have close ties with Wang Qishan. Although the rumors could not be independently confirmed, but Wang Qishan was the secretary of Hainan more than a decade ago, and the headquarters of HNA is in Hainan, the group’s fortune took off, and indeed has close ties with Hainan!
What’s even more coincidental is that the website of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China published an article on Wednesday (27), “counting the stink” (counting down) of Zhang Qi, the former secretary of Haikou who once followed Wang Qishan in Hainan, saying that Zhang Qi “relied on the land to enrich himself”, “sat on the land to make money” and “used the island to make money”. The financial situation of HNA Group and its political background has always been a hot topic among netizens after dinner. The accidental death of HNA co-founder and chairman Wang Jian in France in July 2018 was a subject of much debate. As recently as February of the same year, Wang Jian spoke at a special meeting of the HNA Board of Directors, referring to the HNA incident as a political event and a “frantic backlash” against the rise of China by reactionary forces at Home and abroad!
