The Breitbart News reports that literary agents have been fired for opening Parler accounts.
Colleen Oefelein, an Alaska-based literary agent, was fired this week, reportedly for opening a social media account on Parler, according to the report.
Breitbart News contributing editor John Nolte said, “I did my best to identify anything offensive that Oefelein might have tweeted, something that could have been fired, but I didn’t find anything. I also contacted her former employer twice yesterday to ask in detail if she was fired simply for using Paller, or if there was a specific tweet involved.
No one responded.
It is well known that, unlike Twitter, Paller does not censor its users, as Twitter engages in a terrible form of left-wing corporate censorship and regularly purges right-wing users (including President Trump). In fact, Paler is what Twitter originally advertised: a free speech platform dedicated to open and honest debate about American ideals.
Unfortunately, Paller made the terrible decision to use Amazon, a left-wing corporation opposed to free speech, to host its servers. Amazon kicked it out and now Paller can barely function.
Nevertheless, according to my compilation, here’s the whole story from Ophirin ……
On Nov. 20, Ophirin used her Twitter account to announce that she would also be posting on Paler.
“I am now posting on Paler as well. It’s a great platform with no censorship! Will send out some comments there next week. Come find me.” Then, she added some hashtags.
Then, on Jan. 25, in a tweet that now appears to have been deleted, the account @YAWhispers posed the following question to O’Flynn’s employer, the New York-based Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency: “Does the Chiara Literary Agency know or care that one of your agents frequents Paler and Gab on such alternative right-wing social media?”
By 10:09 a.m. that day, Jennifer De Chiara herself (who has since locked her Twitter account) responded, “Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have taken swift action and as of this morning, January 25, Colleen O’Flynn is no longer an agent with this agency.”
Later the same day, Ophirin confirmed the news of her dismissal.” Well, thank you Twitter and Chiara Literary Agency. I just got fired because I’m a Christian and a conservative.”
I’ll happily update this story with new information that O’Flynn was fired for no other reason than opening an alternative social media account on Twitter. That’s all. There is no evidence (that I could find) that she did a single thing – whether on Twitter, Paler or anywhere – that offended anyone in any way (I also reached out to O’Flynn for comment).
More importantly, the story has been picked up by local and far-left media outlets like Newsweek. Again, there seems to be only one offensive act by Ophirin: opening an account on Paller.
