Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) speaking.
In an interview with Newsmax TV on Wednesday, Jan. 27, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said that President Biden‘s immigration policies, particularly his reversal of former President Trump‘s “zero tolerance” policy on immigration, will “create real problems” for Texas and the rest of the United States. The “real problem” in Texas and other parts of the United States.
Paxton told “John Bachman Now” Wednesday afternoon that “this [Biden’s immigration policy] creates a real problem for all the border states, for the country as a whole, because the risks associated with open borders and non-compliance with federal law pose a real problem for the Communist Party. The risks associated with open borders and non-compliance with federal laws pose medical risks for the CCA virus and other potential diseases. It can also create problems for law enforcement.”
He went on to note, “My state bears the cost of health care, Education and law enforcement, as well as many other costs. So, it’s a real problem. The federal government is not going to take the money to help us, and they’re letting people [illegal immigrants] come across the border very easily and readily right now.”
Paxton added, “If Congress wants to come up with some different policies related to that, I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to that. They can reconsider the immigration law and make changes, it hasn’t changed in a long Time, and I’m open to that. But that (changing the immigration law) has to be the conclusion of a public debate among our elected representatives. You can go back and forth (on it) and have a vote, but it should never be a unilateral action by an agency, the federal government or the president himself.”
Upon taking office, Biden reversed a number of Trump Administration immigration policies by way of executive orders, including: establishing an eight-year pathway to citizenship for approximately 11 million illegal immigrants, suspending deportations of illegal immigrants, calling off construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall, and more. Biden’s immigration policies are opposed by some members of Congress from both parties. Among them, Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas (R-Ark.) called the plan “the most radical immigration bill in U.S. history.
Anti-illegal immigration advocates and analysts have warned that Biden’s immigration policy could lead to a surge in illegal immigration at the U.S. southern border, as economic problems and natural disasters caused by the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia) prompt large numbers of people from Central American countries to try to enter the United States.
