The former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, in his first evaluation of the new administration, says he is disappointed with Biden.
Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently made his first assessment of the new administration, saying he was disappointed that the Biden Administration had disabled the “China virus. He also said that the Chinese Communist Party is looking for the Biden administration’s “weaknesses” and trying to exert influence.
On Jan. 26, Pompeo gave his first interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo after leaving office. In an interview with Maria Bartiromo, he criticized the Biden administration’s strategy of patience with the Chinese Communist Party.
“Strategic tolerance” was a strategy proposed under Obama with North Korea that essentially condoned the country’s development of nuclear weapons and was widely criticized by the American right.
Pompeo said, “Backing down will not cause the Communist Party to change its direction or course. Quite the contrary, they need to see fierce resistance and a demonstrated ability to make them pay the price.”
He said the Trump administration has changed decades of U.S. appeasement policies to stand strong against the Chinese Communist Party and protect the American people. The Biden administration has a responsibility to continue to tell the Chinese Communist Party, “We’re not going back to the appeasement policies of the last 40 or 50 years.”
Pompeo said, “The Chinese Communist Party has taken advantage of Americans and destroyed millions of jobs, and that is intolerable, and the United States will not continue to hold back.”
He also spoke of his pleasure that the new Secretary of State Blinken endorsed the Chinese Communist Party’s genocide against the Uighurs. He was disappointed, however, that the Biden administration banned the term “Chinese virus.
Biden signed a new executive order on 26 May that bans the federal government from saying “China virus. The term “China virus” was first coined by President Trump (Trump) because the Chinese Communist Party falsely accused the United States of being the origin of the virus, which Trump used to hit back at the Chinese Communist Party. It is well known that the outbreak of the Chinese Communist virus first broke out in Wuhan, China, and then spread around the world.
Pompeo said, “We know that the Chinese Communist Party is hiding the outbreak” and it is quite important for Americans to understand that it is a matter of health, security and economic prosperity.
In response to a question about whether the Chinese Communist Party will try to take over Taiwan in the same way it has cracked down on Hong Kong, Pompeo said, “I have every confidence that they [the Chinese Communist Party] will challenge this administration to see if they can find a soft spot, to see if they can find a way to continue to put pressure on the people of Taiwan.”
He added, “I hope this government, I hope, will do what past governments have done.” “Our expectation is to hold the Chinese Communist Party to its promises to us, just as we have kept our promises to Taiwan.”
Since the Biden administration took office, the Chinese Communist Party has continued to send a large number of military aircraft to intrude into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone. The U.S. State Department issued its first statement on January 23 on the subject of security in the Taiwan Strait, urging the CCP to cease its military and diplomatic intimidation of Taiwan and calling on the CCP to engage in meaningful dialogue with Taiwan. But the Chinese Communist Party sent more military aircraft to harass Taiwan the next day, showing that it ignored the Biden administration’s warnings.
In addition, Pompeo left office to join the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank in Washington, DC. The Institute’s board of directors is chaired by Sarah May. Sarah May. Secretary Pompeo’s exemplary record of public service and his commitment to the values that underpin our mission make this an exciting opportunity to work together,” said Sarah May Stern, president of the Institute’s Board of Trustees.
