Strange! Second Police Officer Dies by Suicide After Capitol Incident

The Gateway Pundit reports that a second police officer has died by suicide following the Jan. 6 riots in Congress.

Another police officer has died by suicide in the wake of the Jan. 6 protests at the Capitol.

According to testimony obtained by Politico, Jeffrey Smith, the D.C. police officer who responded to the Capitol riots, died by suicide.

Acting Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee told the House Appropriations Committee in a closed-door meeting Tuesday that D.C. police officer Jeffrey Smith and Capitol police officer Howard Liebengood both “committed suicide after that fight.

Smith’s death had not been disclosed until Conti testified.

A third law enforcement officer, Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, died of injuries sustained in the Capitol attack.

“We honor the service and sacrifice of Officers Brian Sicknick, Howard Liebengood and Jeffrey Smith, and extend our condolences to all the grieving families.” Conti said in his testimony.

Several weeks ago it was reported that Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood had died by suicide after responding to a riot at the Capitol.
