U.S. media: Trump fought for us, now it’s our turn to fight

Trump attended and spoke at a New Hampshire rally last Feb. 10, winning several cheers from the crowd.

The Federalist, a conservative media outlet, published an opinion piece Wednesday (Jan. 27) by the paper’s reporter, David Marcus, saying Trump has created a new kind of conservatism that he has fought for and now it’s Time for us to fight for it.

A translation of the article follows.

Back in the early days of Trump’s rise to prominence, he was always mocked as “he’s fighting again” whenever he didn’t fall into line. Pundits laughed at him, saying, “The rednecks who are enamored with Trump think he’s combative.” But in reality, Trump is indeed a fighter who has won many battles, and his constituents are now better off because of his victories.

When incumbent Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was falsely accused of alleged sexual misconduct in the past, conservatives usually thought his nomination to the bench was over. Before Trump, that was exactly right, and things should have been over because that was the smart play. But Trump chose to fight back instead.

Moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem is something that past U.S. presidents have promised, but never delivered, for reasons they fear impede the prospects for peace in the Middle East. Instead, Trump did it and achieved a historic normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab countries. That’s because he fought for it.

Since the late 1980s, we have believed that opening trade to Communist China would liberate that repressed country. We still did, even after the Tiananmen massacre, but to no avail. What we are seeing now is a much more brutal suppression of the people by the Communist Party. Meanwhile, in decades of tolerance, we have lost a lot of jobs. But Trump started a trade war, and he fought back.

Now, the left-wing-supported transgender movement sees no biological difference between men and women. Biden signed an executive order forcing girls to compete on the same field as boys in sports. And Trump’s executive order does the opposite, requiring the federal government to respect the scientific notion of biological sex differences. He fought it.

Overcoming the odds, Trump has reduced the U.S. military presence overseas, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. He protected our soldiers. He has done the almost impossible: a sitting president doesn’t have to start a new war. And in less than a week of Biden’s presidency, he began increasing the number of troops stationed overseas. Trump struggled.

Our public schools now teach our children American history, convincing them that we are a terrible country, full of racism, and in need of radical reform. Trump knows that’s not true. He commissioned the ideologues to create the “1776 Commission” to reverse the terrible left turn. Biden obliterated that effort on his first day in office. Trump fought it again.

Trump is a fighter. That’s not a joke. He did fight for things that are very important, while too many Republicans just go around. Trump is a voice for us, our ideas and millions of Americans.

Conservatives don’t seem to be supposed to fight, we’re supposed to stay moderate in the dark night of left-wing hegemony and just hope our Norman Rockwell paintings don’t get confiscated and repealed. It can’t be. Left-wing David French and Jonah Goldberg readers can continue to read their stuff, but conservative ones can’t. We will continue to keep up the Trumpian fight.

Trump has called on the American people to fight back. The examples above show that he has been very successful. There is no turning back for us now. The far-left executive order issued by Biden gives us a glimpse of the situation we now face. Democrats don’t want rapprochement, they want domination, domination over you, your children and your community.

Trump appealed to working class and minority voters and worked hard to win their votes. Trump doesn’t simply think we are losing and try to slow down the pace of defeat, he wants to win.

Now it’s time for us to fight. It is now our responsibility to save our country.
