What did you talk about with Putin? Biden’s phrase to deal with reporters

During a recent press conference at the White House, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, who has gained notoriety for asking President Joe Biden pointed questions, asked directly about the content of a conversation between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Tuesday (26), as Biden was preparing to leave after signing an executive order aimed at addressing racial inequality, Ducey shouted, “Mr. President, what did you and Putin talk about?”

Earlier it was reported that the U.S. and Russian leaders had just spoken on the phone.

Biden responded, “You. He sends his best wishes.” With that, he hurriedly left the press conference.

Biden seemed a bit miffed by the question, but Duce’s counterparts – White House correspondents for The Washington Post and The New York Times – agreed that the question was reasonable.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki later confirmed that Biden did call Putin on Tuesday.

According to the White House, Biden told Putin that the U.S. would protect itself from Russia’s malicious actions. Part of the discussion included a five-year extension of the New START treaty, which the two countries signed in 2010 to limit the deployment of strategic nuclear warheads and their delivery systems on both sides.

Biden also pressed Putin on Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine and addressed reports that Russia offered bounties to Afghan militants to kill U.S. troops, Psaki said.

Biden told reporters on Monday that he wanted to discuss some troubling issues with Russia. Biden also reportedly discussed last year’s massive cyberattacks against numerous U.S. government agencies and private companies. U.S. intelligence officials and private cybersecurity firms have called Russia the culprit in the hack and accused Russia of allegedly interfering in the 2020 U.S. election.

Russia has given a different account of the call, saying Putin and Biden discussed hot-button issues such as the economy and the Chinese Communist Party virus, and did discuss solutions on domestic affairs in Ukraine, but provided no further details.

Putin was one of the last world leaders to congratulate Biden on his election and did not send his congratulations until the U.S. Congress finished certifying the electoral votes on Jan. 6.
