Reuters: “Proud Boys” leader was an undercover FBI informant who assisted in the investigation of the case many times

Enrique Tarrio, president of the Proud Boys, has been arrested by the FBI since 2012.

Reuters reports that federal court records show that Enrique Tarrio, president of the far-right group Proud Boys, has worked as an undercover informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local police agencies since his arrest in 2012, assisting in numerous investigations.

According to a 2014 Miami federal court record, federal prosecutors, FBI agents and Tarrio’s defense attorney all mentioned Tarrio’s role as an undercover agent in the fraud case, and emphasized that Tarrio assisted law enforcement agencies in prosecuting more than a dozen people in cases ranging from drugs to gambling and human trafficking, asking the court for leniency in sentencing.

Vanessa Singh Johannes, the former federal prosecutor in charge of Talio’s case, confirmed to Reuters that Talio had indeed worked with local and federal authorities to assist in the prosecution of criminals, including the bust of a marijuana grower’s house in Miami and a pharmacy fraud case.

Jeffrey Feiler, who was Taliau’s defense attorney, pointed out in court that Taliau worked as an undercover informant in many cases, including anabolic steroid trafficking cases, prescription painkiller cases and human smuggling cases.

In the courtroom, Ferrer noted that Talio was a “contributing informant” who helped investigators uncover three homes where marijuana was being grown.

Reuters reported that Talio was arrested by D.C. police just two days before the congressional demonstrations, when he arrived in D.C. The D.C. Superior Court ordered Talio to leave D.C., and a court hearing is scheduled for June.

Although Tario himself did not break into Congress, at least five of the “Proud Boys” have been charged by the prosecution.

The company has been involved in a fraud case for 30 months, but the sentence was later reduced to 16 months. But he said that the court lenient sentence because the defense attorney to help clarify some doubts.
