U.S. host: Heavy military presence in capital is a “political show” for top Democrats

Fox News host Laura Ingraham said Monday (Jan. 25) on her show “Ingraham Angle” that, just months after condemning Trump for considering deploying the National Guard to quell left-wing riots in major cities across the country Only months after condemning Trump for considering deploying the National Guard to quell left-wing riots in major cities across the country, top Democrats are misusing the National Guard for their “political show.

On her show, she played clips of speeches by top Democrats at the Time, including former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut. They accused Trump of misusing military and government assets for his own benefit.

Ingraham noted that to this day, District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser (D-Calif.) wants to keep the National Guard in Washington, D.C., until at least March.

“Those Democrats changed their minds,” Ingraham said, adding that Bowser has asked for 5,000 National Guard troops to remain in Washington, D.C. And after the Capitol unrest and before Biden‘s inauguration, she asked for about 25,000 soldiers.”

“Do they really think that animal-skinned lunatic intends to return to Washington again with her other furry friends?” Ingraham is referring here to the now-indicted Jacob Chancey of Arizona. (Jacob Chansley) of Arizona. He was one of the activists at the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

“This is a political show directed by the Democratic leadership. They are using the military to enhance the drama of the kangaroo impeachment trial against former President Trump.” Ingraham said, “They were able to play into the victim despite the lack of any sign of a serious and ongoing threat. This opens the back door for them to execute their next agenda: removing any political opponents in the military.”

Ingraham explained that Democrats are trying to use the National Defense Authorization Act to address alleged extremism within the Pentagon and related agencies, according to The Hill. “The broader the word and the less transparent it is, the easier it is to fire military and other government personnel who don’t agree with them politically or even culturally,” she said.

“Most people would agree that dangerous extremists should not generally be allowed to join the military. We don’t want members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in our military, and certainly not people from the KKK. But that’s not who Democrats are talking about.”

Ingraham went on to point to recent comments by White House Press Secretary Jennifer Psaki that Biden ordered the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to “work with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a comprehensive threat assessment of violent domestic extremists.”

Psaki said at the time, “This assessment will include government departments and nongovernmental organizations.” In response, Ingraham warned that it is worth considering what Pusaki meant by nongovernmental organizations, “the American Civil Liberties Union? Black Lives Matter? Planned Parenthood? Or the anti-gun rights groups?”

“The thinking must be that they consider anyone who disagrees with their far-left goals to be an extremist. Based on what the Biden Administration has said, it’s clear that they will use the power and surveillance of the U.S. government to keep a closer eye on a lot more people than the domestic terrorists we think are lurking in government agencies. What if someone complains on Facebook about the federal government wasting money, or says that ‘Roe v. Wade’ (referring to an anti-abortion precedent that the high court struck down nearly 50 years ago) should be overturned? Or what if they are conservative Baptists who believe that sex outside of Marriage is immoral? Would they now be considered extremists, or even terrorists? We have a right to know.” Ingraham continued, “You know what this is destined to lead to? This is not the path to a freer, more united America.”

Many experts also say that the Democratic military presence in Washington, D.C. is politically motivated, and on January 25, retired Lieutenant Steven Rogers, a former member of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, told NTV that the continued retention of at least 5,000 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C. after President Biden’s inauguration is unusual, unprecedented, and unnecessary, and It is potentially akin to an “occupying force,” which is worrisome.

Rogers said the continued presence of troops in Washington, D.C., is politically motivated and “even more confusing because our troops are in Washington, D.C., while many cities on the West Coast are being burned. Antifa is attacking city halls, they’re taking over neighborhoods, they’re burning down buildings, they’re attacking police,” yet the National Guard is not being sent there.

“There is an underlying problem that this country is under the influence of communism, socialism,” Rogers said, “and it’s not quite proportionate that while the American people are worried about some people in the United States pushing a socialist and communist agenda, our military is stationed in the capital on a high note. The only conclusion I can draw now is that this is not good for America at all, and it’s not a good sight for anyone.”
