Taiwan‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today that Taiwan’s representative in the United States, Xiao Meiqin, has a history of contact with an employee of the representative office who was diagnosed recently, so she is in Home isolation and telecommuting in accordance with Epidemic prevention regulations, and her health is currently in good condition.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan issued a news release on the 24th that an employee of the representative office in the U.S. had fever symptoms on the 20th and was diagnosed with the new crown pneumonia on the 23rd after taking tests and has been isolated at home, as the employee had contact with three other personnel in the representative office, so the representative office also arranged for these three contacts to be isolated and tested at home. Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs further confirmed today that one of the home quarantine is Taiwan’s representative to the United States, Hsiao Meiqin.
This is the second Time since she took office as Taiwan’s representative to the U.S. last July that she has had to be quarantined at home due to her history of exposure to Newcastle pneumonia.
Her last home quarantine due to a history of exposure to Newcastle pneumonia was in November of last year. At that time, the Taiwan Representative Office in the U.S. conducted a rapid screening of 50 people after two people were diagnosed, and the results were confirmed in nine people.
