Senator Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, has become a thorn in the side of American liberals by challenging the electoral vote results of the presidential election in the Senate, and not only has his new book been canceled by the publisher, but some scholars are threatening to “skin him and lynch him to death” in a public article. Holly defied the crackdown and warned that the Communist China-style social credit scoring system was being imported into the United States in the form of a “Culture of cancellation.
In an article in the New York Post, Hawley said: “Everyone knows what a credit score is. But social credit scoring is something new. It’s the latest corporate import from Communist China. There, the government and big business spy on the social views and speech of every citizen.”
He noted that it is the latest form of America’s “culture of cancellation,” as monopolies and the left team up to block speech they don’t like and impose their political agenda on America. Hawley added that “those who still believe in free speech and the First Amendment should take a stand (against it).”
In recent weeks, Hawley and Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) have both come under fire for challenging the election results before a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, with a publisher canceling Hawley’s upcoming book, a restaurant chain canceling his campaign fundraiser and calls for his resignation.
After the congressional unrest, Amazon (Amazon), Google and other major corporations have announced to stop political donations to Republican lawmakers who oppose the certification of Biden‘s election results; “Forbes” magazine even warned major corporations not to hire outgoing Trump administration officials, or they would never rest.
Holly added: “It’s going to get worse. Tech giants have already kicked out dozens of conservatives from social media. If they are allowed to do what they want, the Republican half of the House of Representatives will be expelled from Congress. The corporate giants seem to believe that the only way to make democracy to their liking is to remove all threats to the Democrats’ unified control of government.”
Hawley noted that conservatives are under more duress as America’s “culture of cancellation” intensifies, but he won’t back down. “My book will be published, and I will continue to represent the people of my state without fear or favor, no matter what the left or those corporations say.”
