According to the U.S. police on Sunday (24), a man took a bus from Atlanta back to New York City, just after getting off in Chinatown, was beaten by a group of people, his body was cut in several places, and all his clothes were stolen.
Police said the group consisted of about 12 people, both men and women. On Friday (22) at about 11:30 a.m., they attacked the victim near Canal Street and Allen Street in Manhattan, New York, using an unknown object to cut him.
The assailants took the victim’s cell phone and removed his pants, underwear and shoes.
The New York City Police Benevolent Association (PBA) tweeted video of the attack and said the victim was “stripped naked” in the street.
A police source said, “He was coming from Atl and just got off the bus and they attacked him.”
Police said the man, 26, who lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., was cut four times in the attack, twice on his head and once on his hand. The group then hitched a ride in three vehicles to escape, including a van and two cars.
The NYPD Guild said in a tweet, “This is not an uncommon attack, this is the reality on our streets.”
The agency also appealed for information from those with information.
