Godiva Chocolate Closes All North American Retail Stores, 7 in Bay Area

Leading Belgian chocolate store Godiva has announced that it will close all of its retail stores in North America, including seven in the Bay Area.

Godiva’s massive store closures will close a total of 128 retail stores in the U.S. and Canada, but not in Europe, the Middle East and China.

Godiva said in a statement that the actual shopping has been affected by the Epidemic and has accelerated the change in consumer shopping behavior, noting that the store closures in North America will be completed by March and people will still have the opportunity to eat Godiva chocolates on Valentine’s Day.

However, although the physical Godiva retail stores in the U.S. are closing, people can still buy Godiva chocolates on the Internet, in supermarkets and other retail stores.

The Bay Area locations of the closing Godiva retail stores include San Francisco Mall, Stonestown Mall in San Francisco, Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore, Stamford Mall in Palo Alto and Stoneridge Mall in Blythornton.
