An overwhelming majority of Americans want officials in the Biden administration to stop the caravan of migrants from Central America at the southern border, according to a Rasmussen poll released Friday, Jan. 22, expressing an American sentiment toward Biden’s efforts to grant Amnesty to more than 11 million illegal immigrants.
A Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday shows that perhaps 60 percent of U.S. voters want officials to stop the migrant caravan at the southern border. Only 30 percent of voters believe immigrants should be allowed to enter the U.S. temporarily and then be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
The survey also found that 48 percent of respondents think stopping construction of the border wall is a bad idea, with 42 percent supporting a border wall stoppage. A total of 82 percent of Republicans said the caravan of immigrants should stop at the border, with 63 percent of unaffiliated voters holding that view and only 38 percent of Democrats sharing that view.
The survey by Rasmussen was conducted Jan. 19-20 and involved 880 likely U.S. voters.
According to a report by Breitbart News, the Biden Administration began rolling back many of Trump‘s policies after taking office, and large numbers of Honduran immigrants are entering the U.S.’s southern border, making immigration reform a top priority. Biden’s first day in office has been spent pushing an amnesty program for illegal immigrants, where anyone who can prove they entered the U.S. illegally on or before Jan. 1 will be able to obtain U.S. citizenship. An official on Biden’s transition team told NBC News that it’s too late to “go to America,” but he also said plans to help are under consideration.
