Chinese man shot dead on street in Cambodia in suspected business dispute

A Chinese man was shot dead on a Cambodian street. The embassy contacted Cambodian authorities immediately after learning of the incident and asked for serious treatment.

According to the Cambodian newspaper Angkor Times, the man killed was named Ah Xu, 37 years old.

The report said he was running a casino business in Cambodia’s Westport, and had a business meeting with a man in the morning, and it is suspected that a conflict occurred during the negotiation process, and the other party shot at the murdered man, but did not hit him in the vitals.

The murdered man then immediately fled the scene with others in a car, the culprit chased after him and ended up killing the murdered man in front of a casino.

It is reported that the murdered man was shot near the heart, and the assailant then drove away from the scene, and police are now looking for him.

According to the official microblogging site of the Consular Affairs Protection Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia contacted the Cambodian government as soon as it learned of the incident and requested the Cambodian police to solve the case as soon as possible and severely punish the murderer according to the law. The embassy said it would actively assist the families of the victims in the aftermath.
