Biden’s inauguration congratulated by leaders of many countries, Xi Jinping did not send a congratulatory message

Late on January 20 and early on January 21, Beijing Time, Biden held his presidential Inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. Congress. Leaders of many countries congratulated Biden. As of late January 21, Beijing time, Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping has not congratulated Biden.

At around 11:00 p.m. EST on Jan. 20 and late on Jan. 20, U.S. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President He Jinli will be inaugurated on the west side of the Capitol; they will be sworn in as the 46th president and vice president of the United States at around 11:50 p.m. EST on Jan. 20.

On the occasion of Biden’s inauguration, leaders of the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, South Korea and many other countries congratulated Biden, and Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen also congratulated Biden.

However, as of the evening of January 21, Beijing time, Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping still had not congratulated Biden.

Cui Tiankai, the CCP’s ambassador to the United States, only tweeted his congratulations on the morning of January 21. The Chinese Foreign Ministry also waited until a regular press conference on the 21st for spokeswoman Hua Chunying to offer congratulations in response to a reporter’s question about Biden’s inauguration.

On the day of Biden’s inauguration, the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, did not attend his inauguration ceremony. Trump and his wife left a letter to the Biden’s separately, a White House spokesman said.

The crowd at Biden’s inauguration was very small, with dozens of flags representing each U.S. state and territory and more than 100,000 U.S. flags planted on the National Lawn in place of the audience.

In his Farewell Address on Jan. 19, President Trump praised his accomplishments during his tenure, including efforts to normalize relations in the Middle East and to correct past policies and deal forcefully with the Chinese Communist Party.
