The failure of the Secretary of State Brinken personnel case still not passed Smith acting U.S. Secretary of State post

After Biden took office as president of the United States, Antony Blinken, who was about to take up the post of secretary of state, has not yet passed the personnel case, and the reason for his failure has not yet been made public. The White House has announced that the Secretary of State will be first represented by Daniel Smith.

Smith was the head of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in 2018, training diplomats and holding the title of the State Department’s highest diplomatic rank of Career Ambassador. Blinken is a veteran diplomat who has close ties to Biden and served as Obama’s Deputy Secretary of State and Deputy National Security Advisor. As for Blinken’s personnel case, the Federal Senate Foreign Affairs Committee held a hearing on Blinken’s personnel yesterday.
