U.S. President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated in Washington on Jan. 20. This year, unlike in the past, the entire Washington is under unprecedented state of siege, and Biden will be surrounded by heavy troops to announce his inauguration.
The day before Biden’s inauguration, the streets of Washington were set up with high iron fences, many stores were boarded up with wooden doors and windows, and the streets were cold and empty, with few pedestrians. On the contrary, armed National Guard soldiers were all over the streets, and military vehicles were driving on the streets.
The Capitol, where Biden will be sworn in, has been surrounded by a high barbed wire fence, with National Guard soldiers standing guard with guns, making the Capitol a war zone. This year’s presidential inauguration has been banned from the public, and the National Mall has been filled with flags to replace the crowds of previous years.
