The community has been adjusted to a medium-risk area on Jan. 18.

The official notification from Beijing said that from 0:00 on January 17 to 24:00 on January 18, there were two new confirmed local cases and one asymptomatic infected person in Daxing District, which is a family gathering infection, and one imported case from abroad.

One of the confirmed cases is a female, now living in the Daxing District, Tiangong Street, Ronghui community, January 16 due to the need to travel to Beijing for nucleic acid testing, positive, confirmed on the 17th; her 9-year-old grandson is asymptomatic infected, his school’s 1,081 teachers and students have been transferred to 17 hotels centralized isolation.

The confirmed case of the female had been to Longwood Beijing Daxing Tianjie Mall for a stopover, so the mall has been closed for business. Her main itinerary included walking her grandson to and from school, walking around the outskirts of the neighborhood daily, shopping at the supermarket in the neighborhood, moving around downstairs in the neighborhood, taking her own private car to Daxing District Biomedical Base Dean for nucleic acid testing, and going to a pie store to buy pies.

Another confirmed case is a male, is the close contact of the above female confirmed cases, now lives in Daxing District, Tiangong Yuan Street Rong Hui community, working in a newspaper. The male patient had taken subway lines 4 and 1 from Tiangongyuan Station to Nanlishi Road Station for work on January 4 and January 11, and took the subway home that afternoon.

In addition, there is also an overseas imported case, a male, who departed from Serbia on January 11 and arrived at Beijing Capital Airport on January 12 via Denmark on Air China flight CA878, with a positive nucleic acid test result on the 17th, and the diagnosis was confirmed on the same day.

At present, 17 close contacts in the East Annex Building of No. 1 Fuxingmenwai Avenue, the workplace of the above-mentioned confirmed male patient, have been tested for nucleic acid and all results were negative. The entire building of a company in Block C of Weber Times in Weigongcun, the workplace of the daughter of the female confirmed case, is under control.

Since noon on the 19th, the Tiangongyuan community, Tiangongyuan Cili community, Tiangongyuan Zhongli community and Tiangongyuan Nanli community, which belong to Tiangongyuan street in Daxing District, have been closed off and residents are all quarantined at home.

The Epoch Times reporter learned from Liu Yu (a pseudonym), the owner of a store in the Ronghui district, that the Ronghui district has been closed since the 17th and is not allowed to enter. All the stores around the neighborhood are closed, and they can’t make deliveries, and people around the neighborhood have done their first nucleic acid tests.

“Yesterday, there was an additional case, also from the community, a total of 3 cases, they should be together. Details are still temporarily unclear, are waiting for the official release of news.” Liu Yu said, “the neighborhood (residents) are concentrated in the home isolation, those close contacts may be pulled away.”

Another owner, Chen Xin (a pseudonym), also said that because of the epidemic, stores are unable to open and there are few people on the street. “It’s because this neighborhood affects this area around us, and several surrounding neighborhoods are being lined up.” He said that residents around the neighborhood, including him, were asked to do a collective nucleic acid big data screening before, and a second time yesterday (17).

Chen Xin added that the aforementioned confirmed female case is said to be a foreigner who wanted to go back home before the nucleic acid test was done, only to find out that she was infected with the virus.

Chen Xin expressed concern that the current outbreak continues to expand, “Now if there is one there are two, and if there are two there are ten or eight.”

Beijing is the seat of the Communist Party’s government and the place where the epidemic is most tightly controlled. But since late 2020, Beijing has seen a steady stream of confirmed local cases, especially in the Shunyi district, which has seen successive outbreaks of clustered infections as the outbreak continues to spread. Immediately afterwards, Shunyi District declared a wartime state.

So far, there are three confirmed cases of children in Beijing, the youngest of whom is 8 months old and lives in the Caiyuan neighborhood of Nancai Town, Shunyi District; another case is a 6-year-old boy from the eight village of Gaoliying Town, Shunyi District, who was in the care of a “small dining table” in the home of the confirmed case on January 10; and another case is a 9-year-old boy from the community of Ronghui.

The official figures of the epidemic have been questioned by outsiders because of the Chinese Communist Party’s concealment of true information about the epidemic.

So far, there are six medium-risk areas in Beijing, namely Zhang Xizhuang Village in Gaoliyang Town, Gaoliyang Town, East Magizhuang Village, Beishichu Town, West Zhao Gezhuang Village, Beishichu Town, and Lianzhuang Village, Zhaoquanying Town, and Ronghui Community in Tianguanyuan Street, Daxing District.
