People’s representatives fear the people. Democrats push new legislation to fence off the Capitol forever so lawmakers can be safe.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Jan. 18 that freshman Democratic Rep. Ritchie Torres is pushing new legislation that would wall off the U.S. Capitol and barricade it to protect lawmakers from the people.

Rep. Torres told Jewish Insider that even if President Trump leaves office, “the white nationalist violence that Trump has unleashed” will remain a threat, and “we have to make sure that the Capitol is safe during a possible future rebellion We must ensure that the Capitol is safe during a possible future insurgency.”

Torres tweeted on Jan. 14, “My new bill seeks to restore the Capitol Gateway Plan, a proposal to build a security fence around the Capitol that was previously rejected. Security at the Capitol is only now coming to mind, and we need enhanced protection to ensure the safety of lawmakers, employees and visitors.

For years, congressional Democrats have insisted that walls don’t work, but they are sure to change their minds quickly when they think they need protection. 2019 Democrats sued President Trump to stop him from building the border wall project, and in the course of the lawsuit, Democrats are fighting every step of the way.

The Gateway Pundit says it is clear that the safety of the Democrats is more important than the safety of the American people.
