The presidential inauguration is designated as a “National Special Security Event” (NSSE), indicating that the Secret Service will be the lead federal agency responsible for coordinating security for the event.

In a statement released the next day, Eastman wrote: “If they did not wish to discuss this matter with me, they could have known that every statement I made was supported by documentary and/or expert evidence and had a solid legal basis.”
