On Jan. 18, netizens posted a video showing a man who violated the rules to go out in the Gaocheng district of Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, being tied to a tree with a rope by local street workers as a punishment.
According to official media reports, on the afternoon of January 18, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, issued a notice saying that from 0:00-12:00 on January 18, there were 14 new confirmed cases and one new asymptomatic infection in Shijiazhuang City. In contrast, Shijiazhuang had 52 new confirmed local cases from 00:00 to 24:00 on January 17.
According to local media reports, all neighborhoods in Shijiazhuang’s Gaocheng District are currently closed, with all residents not allowed to leave their homes at will and one family member per household arranged to go out every two days to purchase household supplies.
According to the report, some strictly controlled neighborhoods, all residents’ doors are sealed, not allowing travel at all.
A video posted by a netizen shows that in a neighborhood in Shijiazhuang’s Gaocheng district, street staff caught a man going out in violation of the rules and tied him to a tree with a rope. While bundling also scolded: I smash you, this time is still out and about.
