Rep. Fang Fang, boyfriend of Communist spy, rejoins House Homeland Security panel

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) will rejoin the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, a month after it was revealed in the media that he had an affair with a female Chinese student suspected of spying for the Chinese Communist Party.

This comes after an explosive Axios report revealed the father of two’s ties to Christine Fang (aka Fang Fang), the Bay Area woman accused of spying for the Chinese Communist Party.

On Friday afternoon, Swalwell announced his return to his sensitive post in a tweet.

“My membership on the commission – combined with my experience as a prosecutor and as the son and brother of a law enforcement officer – will give me a unique opportunity to delve into one of the most serious national security threats to the United States,” Swalwell wrote.

Members of the committee oversee security legislation for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the nation.

Swalwell also remains a member of the House Intelligence Committee.

The 40-year-old California congressman has refused to say whether he had a sexual relationship with Fang Fang.
