U.S. election controversy will continue

The wall fell down, the mainland’s pro-Trump network crowd, quickly turned into anti-Trump forces, all kinds of dirty water poured on Trump who was blocked by the U.S. media, impeached by Congress and betrayed by the Republicans.

Leftist ideology took over American higher education institutions, and Harvard University students launched a joint petition to revoke the degrees of three political figures, including White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

An anti-Trump Chinese academic, on FB, took to a famous Voltaire quote, “I don’t agree with you, but I defend to the death your right to speak.” indicating that it is no longer so sure. This quote has always been considered a guideline for free speech in the US, and in the 1960s and 1970s, when the anti-establishment movement was at its height, speech advocating violent revolution was tolerated. The French historian Alexis de Tocqueville said, “The greatness of America does not lie in its being more intelligent than other nations, but in its greater capacity to repair the mistakes it has made.” The ability to repair mistakes comes from the freedom of speech embodied in that statement, which brings to America the most important sense of nationhood, the “spirit of independence and freedom of thought” emphasized by Chen Yinke in his 1929 inscription on Wang Guowei. When a scholar teaching at a U.S. university begins to be unsure of this phrase, it also means that leftist thought has taken precedence over independent spirit and free thought at U.S. universities.

Last Thursday, White House economic adviser Peter Navarro released his third analysis of the U.S. election fraud controversy, tallying data on possible illegal votes in six key U.S. states and concluding that the 2020 election could be the worst election theft in U.S. political history.

Navarro, an economist, has nothing to do with election matters and could have stayed out of it just like other top White House officials. But he used his academic skills as a university professor to carefully study and summarize the complexities of this election fraud, and released an analysis of the 2020 U.S. election last December, entitled “The Perfect Fraud: Six Key Dimensions of Election Fraud”. This was followed by the release of a second report and an updated third summary report. The report’s figures, information, and evidence detail all sources. But all three reports were deliberately ignored and blocked by the mainstream media and social media, on the grounds that the election was behind us and there was no point in talking about fraud or anything else.

It may not make sense for the outcome of the election, but Navarro said, “The anti-Trump media and social media formed a shroud and became complicit in blocking the American people from knowing the truth.” “It’s a dangerous game that also undermines the credibility of the media, as well as destabilizing the political system and the republic.” And this doesn’t make sense?

Three academic reports are so long that I didn’t read them all, and I don’t assume he has a point just because he’s a famous scholar. But even if the information is false, it should be made known, as Jefferson, one of America’s founding fathers, said, “The people should be allowed to hear everything that is true and false, and then make a sound judgment.” Each person often sees different facts, and even if they see the same facts, they will be interpreted differently based on the different backgrounds of each person’s life. Therefore, by allowing different facts to be presented, and by discussing them to correct the false ones and keep the true ones, society can correct its mistakes. If the presentation of certain facts is blocked, there must be an ulterior motive behind it. As the American Founding Father Washington said, “Why is freedom of speech prohibited? There are only three explanations: First, it has done bad things in the past and is afraid that people will mention them; second, it is doing bad things and is afraid that people will criticize it; third, it is preparing to do bad things and is afraid that people will reveal them. In short, the prohibition of freedom of speech must be associated with bad things, definitely not good.” It is definitely not good to deny that famous quote from Voltaire.

The end of the election has already been determined, so why keep smearing, slinging mud, impeaching, and completely blocking his speech, and analysis of reports about the election? Because he has blocked the chain of globalization interests of many people in the past four years. But even so, the traditional poll released by Gallup at the end of the year showed Trump at the top of the list of “people he admires the most”. This may be a side-effect of Navarro’s report, but it also means that the U.S. election is not over, and the controversy over the election will continue unabated.
