A mysterious rumbling sound was heard in the southern part of Florida, USA on January 15. This is a conceptual diagram of human hearing.
On January 15, mysterious rumbling sounds and vibrations appeared in southern Florida, USA, and were felt by people in several areas, but their real cause is still to be investigated.
According to the local Local10 TV station, from Broward County (Broward County) to the south of the Florida Keys (Florida Keys), people in several areas heard rumbling sounds and felt vibrations around 1 p.m. that day, and they wondered if it was triggered by an earthquake.
A resident of Margate said her floor-to-ceiling door shook for about 15 seconds, then the washing machine inside the house was turned on. A resident of Pinecrest said he felt a slight jolt for about 8 seconds, which caused the glass door to shake.
Islamorada (Islamorada) a captain Freeman (Steve Friedman) said he felt and heard a rumbling sound while fishing in Florida Bay. He said he thought it was the usual warplane maneuvers he often sees, but there were no warplanes and they felt far away.
Some people on social media hypothesized that the vibration could have been triggered by something unusual. Although its cause is unknown, the U.S. Geological Survey (U.S. Geological Survey) notes that it was not caused by an earthquake.
Paul Caruso, a geophysicist with the agency, told Local10 television, “We received reports of people in south Florida feeling the shaking at about 1:15 p.m. Our computers did not automatically identify any earthquakes, so we reviewed all of our seismographs, but did not detect any seismic activity.” (You can watch a short video about it by clicking here)
The city of Weston tweeted that residents in the city and several other counties felt the tremors, but there were no explosions in the city. They do not have the most reliable information at this time to determine the cause.
