Zimbabwe Defense Minister Blames China as Source of New Coronary Pneumonia

Zimbabwe’s defense minister has accused the Chinese Communist Party of botched “experiments” that led to the coronavirus (a Chinese Communist virus) that ravaged the world. Zimbabwean public health experts have condemned the defense minister’s comments.

In an interview last Friday (Jan. 15), Zimbabwean Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri broke down in tears after another minister died of the new coronavirus. Muchinguri also said she would only be vaccinated after Zimbabwe developed a vaccine for New Crown pneumonia. Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government has since that interview distanced itself from Mukhingiuri’s defense minister who made the allegation.

Mukhingiuri, who also heads Zimbabwe’s cabinet task force on the new crown pneumonia, said in an interview with an online media outlet that the outbreak is now devastating the southern African country. The interview drew widespread attention on social media.

She said Zimbabwe does not currently have a vaccine, adding that she would not vaccinate against it in other countries. She wanted to know why Zimbabwe could not develop its own vaccine.

In another tearful interview, Muhsinghuli blamed the Chinese Communist Party for the new coronavirus. The New Coronavirus has infected nearly 27,000 Zimbabweans and killed 683.

Didn’t China have another serious outbreak of New Coronavirus cases, Mukhingiuri asked. She alleged that China botched the experiment that led to the spread of the virus. She complained that China could no longer reverse the spread of the virus. “We call them (China) friends, and look where they’ve gotten us.”

When contacted by reporters Sunday (Jan. 17) for comment, Musinguri declined to talk about the interview.
