Pompeo sums up Trump’s anti-communist achievements, promising to become a historical quote

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted more than 20 tweets in a row on Jan. 16, summarizing the Trump administration’s major accomplishments over the past four years in recognizing the nature of the Chinese Communist Party and confronting its threat. Each of Pompeo’s tweets is concise and to the point, and will likely become historical quotes for future generations to learn from and learn how to fight the Communist Party.

In these series of tweets, Secretary Pompeo began by drawing a strict distinction between the concepts of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people, and showed that the Trump administration was the first to recognize the Chinese Communist Party for what it is and the first to fight the Communist threat. The Chinese Communist Party is a threat. The Chinese people are not,” Pompeo said. The Chinese people are not. For 50 years, the United States has bent the knee to the Chinese Communist Party. Under the Trump administration, no more bending the knee.”

Pompeo then explained specifically that the Trump administration has ended its appeasement of the Chinese Communist Party and has confronted the ideological differences between the United States and China. He said.

“The Trump administration has ended its decades-long policy of appeasement and misguided engagement with the Communist Party of China. We can no longer ignore the political and ideological differences between the United States and the People’s Republic of China – between freedom and tyranny.”

Pompeo re-emphasized that the CCP does not equal the Chinese people and that the United States supports the Chinese people and opposes the CCP’s authoritarian rule. The Chinese Communist Party is not the same as the Chinese people,” he said. We support the Chinese people’s desire to rid themselves of the Communist dictatorship. I made that clear in my speech at the Nixon Library.”

Pompeo then pointed out that the CCP is a liar and that the policy of appeasement and dialogue with the CCP is simply ineffective. He said, “The Chinese Communist Party lies and talks about empty words. If we want to change (their) bad behavior, we have to recognize the pattern and (work out) the consequences for it. Appeasement and “dialogue” for the sake of dialogue doesn’t work.”

Using Hong Kong as an example, Pompeo said the Chinese Communist Party had eaten its own words, so the U.S. imposed sanctions to make those who undermine freedom and democracy in Hong Kong pay. He said.

“The Chinese Communist Party is breaking its own promises to the people of Hong Kong. We are offering a real price to those who have denied those noble people their freedoms.”

To be more specific, Pompeo noted that when the Chinese Communist Party violated the Sino-British Joint Declaration, the Trump administration withdrew Hong Kong’s preferential trade status and sanctioned the Chinese Communist Party and Hong Kong government officials. He said.

“When the Chinese Communist Party shamefully violated the Sino-British Joint Declaration, a UN-registered treaty promising a high degree of autonomy to the people of Hong Kong, the Trump administration revoked Hong Kong’s preferential trade status and sanctioned the Chinese Communist Party and Hong Kong SAR officials. #StandWithHongKong”

Referring to the U.S.-China trade war, Pompeo hit the nail on the head when he said, “What about trade without reciprocity? Put tariffs on Chinese goods.”
Moving on to the Wuhan pneumonia virus that caused a global pandemic, Pompeo sent four tweets in a row condemning the Chinese Communist Party for lying, hiding, suppressing doctors like Li Wenliang who told the truth, and deliberately spreading the virus to the world. Pompeo said.

“Wuhan virus and lab: we still don’t know what’s going on there. The World health Organization needs to go in and look at it.”

“The Wuhan virus: the Chinese Communist Party hid it. The Chinese Communist Party made the doctors who knew the truth disappear. The CCP still refuses to let the world see what it has done. The CCP lied about the source of the virus.”
“The CCP closed off travel within China, but let the world suffer. America invented the vaccine for the world. Everyone can see the contrast.”
“When the Chinese Communist Party lied and hid the new coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, the Trump administration led the world in a public call for transparency and condemned the cover-up. #ChineseCommunistLiePeopleDie”

Then speaking of the South China Sea issue, Pompeo said that the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping also lied, but the Trump administration, unlike the previous U.S. administration, set out to defend against the Chinese Communist Party’s aggression. Pompeo said.

“In 2015, General Secretary Xi Jinping stood with then-President Barack K. Obama stood together and said that the CCP ‘had no intention of militarizing the Spratly Islands.’ That promise was reneged on, too. The Trump administration has defended countries that have defended their sovereignty from Chinese Communist aggression.”

Pompeo warned that this is not the Cold War and that the Chinese Communist threat is already inside the United States. He said.

“This is not the Cold War. This is different. The Chinese Communist threat is already within our borders.”

Pompeo also referred to the U.S. closure of the Chinese Consulate in Houston, saying.

“What about the Chinese Communist Party spying at its diplomatic facility in Houston, Texas? We shut it down. It won’t happen again under our watch.”

That said, Secretary Pompeo only praised his role, saying.

“I’m the first official in the U.S. government to disclose in detail in a public forum the influence operations of the Chinese Communist Party. The choice to speak at the National Governors Association because this is not a partisan issue, this is a threat to all Americans.”

Pompeo also reminded state-level lawmakers that they, too, are being targeted by the Chinese Communist Party. He said.

“Lawmakers in every state in America are also targeted (by the Chinese Communist Party). I released the details in a speech in Madison, Wisconsin. Please read the entire thing.”

Pompeo also mentioned that the United States had detected and terminated the Chinese Communist Party’s unified war effort in the United States, saying.

“We ended the (Chinese Communist Party’s) united front operations disguised as cultural exchange activities and cracked down on the influence that the Chinese Communist Party was exerting within our borders. Other countries are following the example of the United States. #Nomore appeasement.”

Speaking of cracking down on Chinese Communist influence, Pompeo also specifically mentioned closing the Confucius Institute and protecting American academic freedom. He said.

“Protecting America’s universities from the malign influence of the Chinese Communist Party is critical to academic freedom. We have exposed the Confucius Institutes for what they are: hubs of Communist disinformation and the long arm of Communist propaganda. They are being rapidly shut down across the United States. #VictoryIsNotEnough”

Secretary Pompeo then posted a schematic diagram indicating that there used to be more than 100 Confucius Institutes in the United States, and now there are fewer than 60 left. He tweeted, “Where we start, we end.” One by one, he said he was knocking down institutions where the Chinese Communist Party exerts influence within the United States.
Secretary Pompeo then reminded readers about the Chinese Communist Party’s encroachment on America’s universities by watching his speech at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Pompeo said the Trump administration has called on universities to disclose their Communist Party funding and to scrutinize visas related to the Communist Party’s military. He said.

“We have called on university boards to disclose publicly and to divest from malicious Chinese companies. Now we’re asking think tanks to disclose foreign funding sources before participating in State Department programs and to scrutinize visas tied to the Communist Party military.”

Another achievement of the Trump administration is the listing of 15 Chinese Communist propaganda agencies as “foreign missions,” Pompeo said in another tweet.

“To the point: we marked 15 CCP media entities and agencies as ‘CCP State Missions’ to ensure Americans know they are dealing with (CCP) propaganda outlets. #FakeNews.”

Pompeo also mentioned that even Xi Jinping himself admitted that CCP propaganda outlets are not independent media, all the more reason for the U.S. not to pretend they are media, and that facts are more important.
