The pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan continues to worsen in China, with Hebei being the most serious, but the official data released by Hebei recently is very strange, even the data released by the health and Welfare Commission and the vice governor of Hebei Province contradict each other.
On January 16, Hebei authorities held a conference on the prevention and control of the epidemic, at which Hebei Vice Governor Xu Jianpei announced that 247 cases were found in the second round of full-scale nucleic acid testing conducted in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, between January 12 and January 14. Xu Jianpei highlighted that the number of positive cases found in the second round of nucleic acid testing had decreased compared to the first.
In the first round of nucleic acid testing conducted in Shijiazhuang between Jan. 6 and 8, 354 positive cases were reportedly found. In other words, a total of 601 positive cases were found in the two full-scale nucleic acid tests.
However, according to the data released by the Hebei Provincial Health Commission, Shijiazhuang only had 498 confirmed cases from January 6 to 14 (50 cases on the 6th, 31 cases on the 7th, 14 cases on the 8th, 44 cases on the 9th, 77 cases on the 10th, 39 cases on the 11th, 84 cases on the 12th, 75 cases on the 13th, and 84 cases on the 14th), and even with the 83 cases on the 15th, there were only 581 cases, which is 20 cases less than the 601 cases found in the two full-scale nucleic acid tests. In other words, for most of the past week, the daily confirmed cases in Hebei Province were basically 90 cases or less. The number of cases reported in Shijiazhuang was between about 75 and 85, while the number of cases in Xingtai was between 5 and 7, which was very stable.
