U.S. Rep. Peter Meijer, a Michigan Republican, said he and nine other Republican congressmen began to fear for their lives after voting for the impeachment of President Trump.
Meijer said in an interview with MSNBC on Thursday: “Many of us are changing our daily habits and looking into buying bulletproof vests, and we (lawmakers) are reimbursed for buying bulletproof vests.
Meyer was one of 10 Republican lawmakers who joined Democratic House members in voting for Trump’s impeachment in the U.S. House of Representatives, which took place on the 13th of local time.
Commenting on the extra precautions taken after last week’s riots in the U.S. Congress, Meyer said, “Unfortunately, we had to go that far. We expected that someone might try to kill us.
