Democrats second impeachment of Trump: 60% said impeachment is costly and time-consuming, 70% called for review of large companies

In response to Democrats’ second attempt to impeach President Trump, a new poll by McLaughlin & Associates, a research and strategy firm, found that 60 percent of voters believe impeachment would be another waste of time and money.

A new polling memo to senior Trump advisers shows voters want House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to put the brakes on impeaching the president, while also calling for punishing Big Tech for censoring him, the Washington Examiner reported on 12 December.

A two-page memo from pollster John McLaughlin, who conducted the poll for the Trump campaign, to senior Trump adviser Jason Miller shows that voters in key states are more eager for the country to move on after last week’s events at the Capitol, and that Congress should work on dealing with the Chinese Communist Party virus rather than impeaching the president.

The memos add that those pushing for impeachment could face strong opposition from voters in the 2022 midterm elections if Congress does not move on.

“Impeachment is seen as a waste of time and money. Voters believe that Democrats are playing politics and that continuing to attack the president will make things worse.” McLaughlin wrote.

This poll shows focused concern about the upcoming Jan. 20 presidential inauguration day, with about 89 percent eager for an orderly transition and 70 percent saying it is very important.

Next is impeachment. Voters in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa (Iowa), Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin are strongly opposed to this.

Sixty percent of voters say impeachment is yet another waste of time and money.

Seventy-seven percent say Congress should be working on dealing with the Chinese Communist virus, not impeaching the president.

Seventy-four percent say impeachment is politically motivated and only serves to prevent President Trump from running again.

Sixty-five percent said Biden and House Speaker Pelosi are dividing the country.

The survey memo also warns against moving forward with impeachment, as Pelosi is preparing to do, possibly with a full House vote on Wednesday. Nearly half of those surveyed said they are unlikely to vote for a member of Congress who supports impeachment.

The survey also revealed concerns about big tech companies censoring free speech, with 70 percent saying that big tech companies like Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, Google and Apple are too powerful and that they need to be regulated.

Seventy-four percent agree that if Big Tech can ban Trump, then they can take away any American’s right to free speech.

The poll was conducted online January 10-11 and included 800 voters from 17 key states who participated in this election, with a margin of error of +/- 3.4% and a 95% confidence rate.
