Luo Longji, Vice Chairman of the Democratic League of China, Died in Depression
Luo Longji, who also spared no effort to seize power for the Chinese Communist Party, was the number two rightist after Zhang Bojun. However, this did not prevent Luo Longji from becoming the “Great Rightist” that the whole country denounced.
During this period, Pu Xixiu (the sister of Peng Dehuai’s wife, Pu Anxiu), with whom Luo was a boyfriend and girlfriend, confirmed his “crime” by his “denunciation”. That year, the People’s Daily published some personal letters from Luo to Pu, with the headline “More than 40 secret letters”, according to which “a reactionary group with organization, program, discipline and funding” was revealed conclusively.
