According to the Yonhap News Agency, the number of people in South Korea who died after receiving flu vaccines this fall rose to 72, 62 of whom were over the age of 70.
South Korea has a population of about 52 million, and the government plans to provide free flu vaccines to 19 million people, including teenagers and the elderly. The first post-vaccination death occurred on Oct. 16, when a 17-year-old boy died. An autopsy showed that his death was unrelated to the vaccination.
