Ma Ying-jeou: U.S. senior official’s visit to Taiwan did not help, ridiculed by Taiwan netizens

The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Kelly Dawn Knight Craft, will visit Taiwan, but former President Ma Ying-jeou believes that there is little substantive help for Taiwan. The company’s main business is to promote the development of the company’s products and services.

The government has been working on the issue for a long time. During his visit, he will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen, call on Foreign Minister Wu Chiu-sup, and give a speech at the Foreign Ministry’s Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs to exchange views on our international engagement and UN affairs.

According to the “Free Press” report, Ma Ying-jeou said in an interview this evening that the US President Trump made this move at this time, although it is a friendly gesture to Taiwan, but the actual help is not much, because whether Taiwan can participate in the United Nations, not by the US ambassador to the United Nations can do. Once the news came out, many netizens left messages on the “Fight Horse Hummer Facebook fan group” scolding, “Ma Xi will help Taiwan?” The company’s main goal is to provide a better solution to the problem.

The visit of Ambassador Craft is the first time since 1971, when China was deported from the United Nations, that a current U.S. permanent representative to the UN visited. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this demonstrates strong U.S. support for Taiwan’s international engagement and symbolizes the further enhancement of the Taiwan-U.S. global partnership.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stressed that in the future, our government will build on the existing good foundation and work hand in hand with the United States and other like-minded countries to defend democracy, freedom, human rights and a norm-based international order, and continue to actively contribute to the world’s peace and development.

The Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr. Kravothe, will visit Taiwan from January 13 to 15.
