China has seen an outbreak of the disease across the country, and the official anti-epidemic measures continue to be upgraded. Within a week, seven provinces have declared a state of war for epidemic prevention and control.
Inner Mongolia epidemic: ‘battlefield everywhere’
On the afternoon of January 8, the authorities of Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia held a mobilization meeting and declared that the city had entered a state of war for epidemic prevention and control. Just a month earlier, Manzhouli, another of Inner Mongolia’s worst-hit cities, declared a state of war.
At the mobilization meeting, the Chifeng municipal authorities requested that all kinds of people in the city should not go out unless necessary, stop large-scale entertainment activities, and postpone the “red” and “white” activities.
The speech of Meng Xiandong, the “top official” of Chifeng City, revealed the paramilitarization mentality of the epidemic, and also saw the seriousness of the local epidemic: “everywhere is the battlefield”, “strictly guard against death”, “manage one’s own people well”, “fight a people’s war” and so on.
According to official sources, more than 3,660 people have returned to Chifeng in the past two days from Shijiazhuang and Xingtai in Hebei province.
Hebei outbreak ‘fierce’
Hebei authorities declared a state of war in the province on January 5. At present, the whole district of Gaocheng District of Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province has been adjusted as a high-risk area, making it the only high-risk area in China. On January 6, Shijiazhuang announced a “city closure”, a closed-loop control of the whole city.
It is worth noting that the Communist Party’s official report of the epidemic has been questioned by the outside world. According to a list of positive patients published by Hebei netizens on Weibo on January 3, six positive cases were found in Xinle and Zhengding counties, which are under the jurisdiction of Shijiazhuang. Authorities in Shijiazhuang reported only one case the same day.
Nangong city, under the jurisdiction of Xingtai city in Hebei province, announced a “city closure” on January 6, banning buses and schools. A resident of Xingtai told Epoch Times that the outbreak in Hebei was fierce and sudden. From Shijiazhuang to Xingtai, nothing happened before.
In addition, Zhangjiakou Zhuolu County on January 5 declared a state of war. At present, Hebei province has announced 17 areas at moderate risk of the epidemic and 1 area at high risk. But the Communist Party has a history of covering up outbreaks, and there are fears that the situation could be much worse.
Beijing entered a state of quasi-war
On the afternoon of January 8, the Beijing municipal authorities reported that as of now, there are eight medium-risk areas in the city.
A total of 11 intercity service lines between Beijing’s Daxing Airport and Beijing Capital Airport have been suspended since Jan 8, despite official attempts to quash rumors that the city was in a state of war. Since Hebei province surrounds Beijing, prevention and control of the area around Beijing has been upgraded, and access to Beijing has been strictly controlled.
Many commuters around Beijing were forced to turn back, unprepared, after officials suddenly required them to carry nucleic acid certificates to enter the capital. According to netizens, restrictions on vehicles entering Beijing have caused huge traffic jams since morning on July 7.
On December 25, Shunyi District declared a state of war.
According to the Beijing authorities on Tuesday, the current epidemic in China is showing the characteristics of the coexistence of human-to-human and animal transmission, clustering and asymptomatic frequently.
The epidemic is severe in many parts of northeast China
On the night of January 2, Heihe City in Heilongjiang Province declared a state of war, and authorities closed the city, banning cars, traffic and schools. In addition, the cities of Dongning and Suifenhe in Heilongjiang Province and Tahe County in the Greater Khingan Mountains region declared a state of war on the same day on December 12, 2020.
A state of war was declared in Dalian, Liaoning province, on December 20, 2020, after 33 people were infected by one of the city’s super-spammers.
After Dalian, the Liaoning city of Shenyang declared a state of war on Dec. 30, one of the super-spreaders, Lady Yin, infected at least 27 people in a trail that spread almost all over the city. According to the knowledgeable person to Epoch Times disclosure, Shenyang Huanggu District centralized isolation site has been overcrowded.
People rushed to supermarkets to buy and hoard food after hearing the news of the outbreak in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, according to an informed source on January 7. And a number of communities were suddenly closed, and some communities also blocked barbed wire.
