The three defendants were convicted by the court of rioting and sentenced to prison.
The police arrested Bi Hui-fen and three others the year before, accusing them of participating in a riot at the airport, attacking Wanchai reporter Fu Guohao, and participating in illegal assembly and illegal confinement.
The District Court ruled the day before yesterday that the three were convicted of a number of charges and deferred their sentences until today. According to Hong Kong electronic media from the court, the judge sentenced Lai Wan-lung to five years and three months in prison, Bi Hui-fen four years and three months, and Ho Kar-fai five and a half years. The judge said when sentencing, will only consider the law and evidence, will not consider the political factors behind, even if the defendant’s philosophy is how noble, as long as the use of violence, reason will become distorted.
