Who was involved in the congressional riots? The U.S. is fully investigating, and 68 people have been arrested.

On Wednesday (Jan. 6), the U.S. Congress held a joint session to certify the results of the Electoral College vote in each state’s presidential election. The certification process was interrupted when someone entered Congress outside and the Capitol was put on lockdown.

Investigators are making arrests after a disturbance at the U.S. Capitol. The police department responsible for protecting Congress announced on the 7th that 68 arrests have been made. Republican Rep. Mo Brooks (R-OK) said the riot was an orchestrated attack by Antifa (ANTIFA) and provided multiple lines of evidence.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking the public’s help in identifying those who caused violence in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6. In the early morning hours of Jan. 7, the FBI issued a statement saying, “The FBI is seeking information that will help identify individuals who actively incited violence in Washington, D.C.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray said, “One thing is certain: we will work with our partners to hold those involved in the siege of the Capitol accountable.”

During the Jan. 6 congressional riots, windows were broken to gain access to the Senate and House chambers and to the offices of lawmakers, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

52 arrested in riot, including police, 5 dead

At least 52 people were arrested, 47 for curfew violations, Washington police said at a news conference late on the 6th. Another four people died. One of them was a woman who was shot inside the Capitol. The other three were an adult female and two males.

Steven Sund, chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, said law enforcement officers were also attacked with weapons by protesters, and more than 50 officers were injured, with some hospitalized for serious injuries.

Members of Congress have asked law enforcement to investigate and address the violence at the Capitol.

The FBI said it would use high technology to track down those involved. If the Justice Department cites the executive order signed by Trump earlier to prosecute, violators could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

The police department has announced the arrest of 68 people

U.S. federal prosecutors are preparing to file criminal charges against some of them, Voice of America said on Aug. 8.

Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said in a statement that the charges will be filed later on the 7th, while investigators continue to gather evidence and make arrests in the coming days and weeks.

Rosen said, “The Department of Justice is committed to ensuring that those responsible for this, the attack on our government and the rule of law, are held accountable for their actions to the full extent of the law.”

He added that federal prosecutors have been working around the clock with the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police to gather evidence, identify the perpetrators and make arrests. Rosen did not say how many arrests have been made.

However, the U.S. Capitol Police, which is responsible for protecting Congress, has announced 68 arrests in connection with the 6 day riot.

According to law enforcement officials, hundreds of people involved in the storming of the Capitol could face criminal charges ranging from destruction of government property to threats against members of Congress.

55 cases have been filed in 36 hours

The District of Columbia’s top federal prosecutor, Michael Sherwin, reportedly revealed on July 7 that 55 cases had been filed in the past 36 hours. Of those cases, 40 have been filed in D.C. Superior Court, including eight involving firearms.

Sherwin said prosecutors also plan to file 15 criminal indictments in federal court that day on charges including unauthorized entry into the Capitol and Capitol grounds, possession of a firearm, and theft of property, among others.

The question of whether Capitol police officers violated their duties. Sherwin said federal prosecutors “are investigating all of the officers involved. At the time of the incident, Capitol Police opened a barricade for the protesters and allowed them to enter the Capitol.

Antifa masquerades as Trump supporter

Republican Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) tweeted that everyone should calm down and not rush to judgment on the attack on the Capitol, as the fake media did, and wait for an investigation into the growing evidence that Antifa orchestrated the attack through clever mob control tactics.

In his tweet, he provided four pieces of evidence.

“1. On Monday, a member of Congress warned me that the ANTIFA threat was increasing and advised me to sleep in my office instead of leaving the Capitol to sleep in my apartment. I took that advice and slept in my office for four consecutive nights.”

“2. The congressman told me that on Tuesday the Capitol Police warned him that intelligence indicated that Antifa (ANTIFA) operatives of a fascist nature would be wearing the same costumes as Trump (Trump) supporters to infiltrate pro-Trump rallies.

“3. Capitol police advised Tuesday that it is best not to leave the Capitol.

“4. A great deal of public evidence suggests that many of those who attacked the Capitol were Antifa militants, not Trump supporters.

“Again, time will reveal the truth, don’t rush to judgment and don’t be fooled by the fake media, which is driven by political leanings to report.

“My point is: prosecute everyone (involved) across the board!”

Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla. also said on the House floor on July 7 that some of the protesters who broke into the Capitol were members of the violent terrorist group Antifa, masquerading as Trump supporters.

g Live video showed Antifa banging on Capitol windows with batons, damaging the glass, while Trump supporters shouted, “Antifa! Antifa! Antifa!”

A Trump supporter wearing a red “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat grabbed the baton and pushed the mob away from the window as the crowd cheered.

Investigative reporter Paul Sperry said former FBI agents at the Capitol texted him to confirm that at least one carload of “Antifa” thugs had infiltrated the peaceful Trump protesters as part of a “false Trump flag” operation.

Prosecutors Sherwin said they are working closely with counterterrorism prosecutors and other federal partners. Evidence of organized command and control is still being sought. “So a lot could happen in the next few days.”
