Zhao Xiaolan to resign as transport minister, first cabinet resignation after parliamentary riots

Federal Transportation Secretary Xiaolan Zhao announced on January 7 that she plans to resign from her position as Secretary on January 11.

Following the White House NSC Deputy National Security Advisor Bo Ming, the Trump administration’s top Chinese-American cabinet official, Federal Transportation Secretary Xiaolan Zhao, plans to resign as Secretary on January 11, the first cabinet official to resign after Trump supporters “took over” Congress on January 6.

Cho announced her resignation as Secretary of Transportation, effective January 11.

Zhao Xiaolan is the first Asian-American woman and the first Chinese-American secretary in U.S. history, and her husband is Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
