The police have reportedly arrested 53 pan-democrats yesterday, and today arrested Wong Chi-fung, the former secretary general of the House of Representatives, and Tam Tak-chi, the vice chairman of People Power, and those arrested yesterday are expected to be released on bail this afternoon.
The government has also announced that the government will continue to support the development of the new government.
According to a report in Sing Tao Daily, police officers went to Shek Pik Prison and Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre to arrest the two as Wong Chi Fung is serving his sentence and Tam Tak Chi is in custody.
Wong was sentenced to 13.5 months in prison for an illegal assembly last year and is serving his sentence in Shek Pik Prison, while Tam was arrested on suspicion of violating Hong Kong’s national security law and is being held in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre.
