Joe’s Republican senator leads when a Democratic county suddenly calls off the count

Voters cast their ballots at a polling place in Candler Park, Atlanta, on Jan. 5 in the Georgia Senate race.

On Tuesday (5), Georgia began the counting process after polling places closed and the Senate race was over. However, just as the two Republican senators held large leads, suddenly the count was halted in Democratic-leaning Chatham County.
As of 11 p.m. EST, about 91 percent of the votes had been counted, with Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler leading 51.1 percent to 48.9 percent and David Perdue with 51.5 percent to 48.5 percent.

But then came the news that Chatham County had stopped counting votes. The county is the most populous in the state of Joe, with the exception of the Atlanta metro area. According to a tweet by Stephen Moody, a local reporter for ABC affiliate WJCL News, Chatham County has finished counting and the Board of Elections annex is empty, with staffers saying they will return at 8 a.m. the next day, where thousands of ballots remain to be counted.

After the news broke in Chatham County, President Trump then tweeted, “Looks like they’re building a “voter dump” (voter dump) for Republican candidates. Waiting to see how many votes they need?”

Michelle Malkin, a veteran journalist, best-selling author and conservative authority, revealed that Chatham County received more than $500,000 from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last September to help with public elections.

Malkin noted that Zuckerberg used private funds to “save” the 2020 election for Democrats, while Republicans who sat on their hands indulged in Zuckerberg’s looting.

Earlier in the day, the Chatham County Board of Elections and Georgia Democrats cited technical issues as the reason for the request, and Chatham County Georgia Superior Court Judge James Bass subsequently ordered an extension of voting hours at two Chatham County polling places, details of which were not immediately available.
