1,000 5G phones are coming! Qualcomm pushes S480 chip to grab affordable market

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 480 chip.

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 4805G chip, which belongs to the entry-level, the first wave of brands including Nokia, Motorola, etc. It is expected to be used in cell phones priced at about $125 to $250 (about NT$3,510 to $7,000), meaning that consumers can buy 5G phones at a cheaper price.

According to Qualcomm’s official website, the Snapdragon 4805G uses an 8nm process and is equipped with the Snapdragon X515G data machine and RF system, supporting millimeter wave and sub-6 GHz bands, and a significant performance upgrade.

In terms of image display, the Snapdragon 4805G supports FHD screen display technology at 120 frames per second for clearer and faster images. In terms of photography, it can support up to 64 million pixel main camera or dual 25 million zero latency shutter, and can also enable triple-lens photography at the same time to enhance the standard of entry-level phones.

In addition, in response to the high reliance of users on cell phones, the Snapdragon 480 also enhances the power configuration to speed up charging.

Qualcomm said that the first wave of brands equipped with Snapdragon 4805G include Motorola, Nokia, Vivo, etc., and new machines are expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of this year.
