Shijiazhuang passenger terminal suspended operations, many hospitals closed management

Several expressways in Shijiazhuang, Hebei were closed and banned from traffic on January 6, after the city was put on a state of war due to the outbreak. Shijiazhuang’s passenger terminal was suspended, shuttle buses from the airport to the city were suspended, and many hospitals announced closed management. In addition, most of the confirmed cases in Shijiazhuang took part in “activities” in Xiaoguzhuang village.

According to a comprehensive land media report, from January 6, Hebei expressway will suspend the upper and lower crossings of Gaoyi station in Shian section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway. Bidirectional K236+843 at the lower crossing of Xingtang Station of Shijiazhuang section of Beijing-Kunming Expressway, Nanfangkou Station and Licun Station of Shitai section; Chengde section of Zhangcheng Expressway of Capital Ring Highway; Gaoshi section of Huangshi Expressway, Shitai section of Qingyin/Huangshi Expressway, Baofu Expressway, Shijiazhuang Ring Expressway, Xinglin Expressway and Xingfen Expressway,

Xingtai section of Xingheng Expressway, Xibaipo to Fuping Shijiazhuang section of Taihang Mountain Expressway, Xibaipo to Fuping Baoding section, Xibaipo Expressway, Xinyuan Expressway.

Shijiazhuang Passenger Terminal will be closed from January 6, and all tickets purchased online from January 6 to 16 will be returned through the original route.

Shijiazhuang airport will stop running regular buses from Shijiazhuang airport to downtown and through trains to surrounding areas from January 6.

In addition, on January 5, Shijiazhuang City epidemic prevention and control press conference announced that from January 6, Shijiazhuang City will be fully launched all nucleic acid testing. On Jan. 5, many hospitals in Shijiazhuang announced that their wards were under closed management and all visits were banned, including the First, Second and Fourth Hospitals of Hebei Medical University, the Stomatological Hospital of Hebei Medical University and the Eye Hospital of Hebei Province.

In addition, on January 5 and 6, when the Hebei authorities reported the movements of the confirmed cases, the mainland media mostly said that some people had attended the wedding, but ignored the fact that more of these people had attended “activities” in the village of Xiaoguzhuang, and the report did not specify what activities they had attended in the village.

For example, of the 11 new confirmed cases reported in Shijiazhuang on January 4, six had attended activities in Xiaoguzhuang village, while only three (one of whom also attended activities in Xiaoguzhuang village) had attended a wedding.

Of the 19 new confirmed cases reported in Shijiazhuang on January 5, 10 people attended an event and only two attended a wedding, but the mainland media only stressed that they attended the wedding, while vague about the event.

Some netizens posted pictures on social media suggesting there was a church in the village, raising questions about whether the people were attending church activities.
