D.C. mayor mobilizes troops to deal with pro-Trump rally, contrary to his approach to the June riots

Supporters of President Trump are planning rallies in the nation’s capital Tuesday (5) and Wednesday to call for an end to election theft, and the Democratic mayor of Washington, D.C., has prepared the National Guard for those who express their hearts. The D.C. mayor’s move is the polar opposite of what she did in June when she dealt with far-left groups inciting riots.

Trump supporters will gather for a rally aimed at saving America by demanding that Congress properly certify the Electoral College vote results for the 2020 election. Tuesday’s rally will be held in Freedom Plaza, with two more rallies to be held in front of the Capitol and Supreme Court.

Wednesday’s main rally will be held on The Ellipse, the south side of the White House, which is open to the public but many seats are reserved. Gates will open at 7 a.m. and attendees will be able to enter the White House grounds after passing through Secret Service checkpoints. Trump is expected to speak at 11 a.m. that day.

Despite the support of Trump and millions of Americans, and the peaceful nature of previous rallies and marches by Trump supporters, D.C. Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser put the National Guard on standby and issued a warning to rally participants she called “seeking confrontation.

“We will not allow people to incite violence, intimidate our residents or cause havoc in our city.” Bowser said in a prepared statement. She has mobilized 340 National Guardsmen in what she claims is a response to potential unrest on the streets of Washington.

In stark contrast, earlier this year, in June, when there was a full-scale riot in Washington and people were injured, Bowser said it was not appropriate to mobilize the National Guard.

According to an article published in Forbes magazine, Trump eventually had to call in the National Guard himself because of Bowser’s reluctance to call in the National Guard during the violent riots.

Bowser’s rhetoric at the time was that the deployment of federal law enforcement and armed forces was angering and adding to the resentment of protesters who were largely “peacefully protesting” for change and reform of the racist and broken system that was killing black Americans.

After Trump called in the National Guard to help quell the unrest, Bowser demanded that Trump withdraw all federal law enforcement and National Guard troops patrolling Washington, D.C., and said he would stop paying for hotels for the Utah National Guard, whose presence in the city she did not want in the first place.

In response to Bowser’s unconscionable actions, Utah U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R) specifically tweeted his criticism: “Just heard Mayor Bowser will kick the Utah National Guard out of all hotels in Washington, D.C. tomorrow and over 1,200 military personnel from 10 states are being evicted. This is unacceptable.”

And now, with Congress set to begin the process of certifying the disputed electoral votes, Bowser has gone so far as to ask the National Guard to help keep order on the streets of Washington from Tuesday through Thursday, with about 115 people on duty at all times and warning signs posted throughout the city declaring it illegal to carry any type of firearm.

The last time Trump supporters rallied in the capital, Black Lives Matter (BLM) organizers threatened hotels in the area not to accept Trump supporters. But people wonder if the National Guard deployed this time will be allowed to stop the barbaric behavior of Black Lives Matter.
