In a speech in Georgia on January 4, 2021, President Trump said he hoped Vice President Pence would “get us through this” on January 6, and warned that if he didn’t, he “wouldn’t like him that much.”
Trump spoke Monday night at a rally in Georgia, endorsing the candidacyof Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, who are seeking re-election in Tuesday’s special election. As at any trump election rally, the Georgia rally was packed.
At the start of the rally, The president noted that despite efforts by the media and Democrats to paint a different picture, he had actually won George Asia for the second time.
The president raised a challenge to the Electoral College, saying Republicans, along with vice President Mike Pence’s authority to block the certifying electoral college, will fight for the American people in Congress.
“I have to tell you, I hope That Mike Pence will help us through this,” Trump told the crowd. I hope our great vice President can help us succeed. He is a great man. Of course, I wouldn’t like him so much if he didn’t! ‘
“He’s a great guy,” Trump continued. “He’s a great guy, a smart guy, a guy I like very much. But he has a lot to say about that. What do you know about him? You’ll get a straight answer from him, and he’ll say so.”
The National Archives reported last week that Pence, after weeks of silence and litigation, said he welcomed the January 6 challenge to the electoral College certification. Marc Short, vice President Pence’s chief of staff, said in a statement that Pence shared the concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities in the last election. The Vice President welcomes the fact that members of the House and Senate will use their power under the law to present objections and evidence to Congress and the American people on January 6.
