The pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan, Hebei province, continues to worsen. Fourteen new local cases and 30 asymptomatic cases were confirmed in Hebei province on Jan. 4, officials said. Another video posted on the Internet showed hebei authorities sending a large number of biochemical disinfectants to spray disinfectants along the streets, prompting netizens to exclaiming: “It is so scary that Unit 731 has come, not only to be killed by the virus, but also to be choked and poisoned by the spray.”
A total of 14 new cases of the disease were confirmed in Hebei province on Jan. 4, including 11 in Shijiazhuang and 3 in Xingtai, the Hebei Provincial health Commission said Wednesday. An additional 30 asymptomatic cases have been reported, all of them in Shijiazhuang.
According to the official track of the 11 confirmed cases in Shijiazhuang, all the 11 confirmed cases are residents of Liujiasao Village and Xiaoguozhuang Village in Gaocheng District. Many of them in the near future or out to attend the wedding, or out to participate in the village activities, or on the village market to buy things. Of the 3 confirmed cases in Nangong City, Xingtai, one was transferred to the hospital without symptoms for 3 days, and the other 2 were confirmed patients announced on 3 days.
On Jan. 4, the second Hospital of Hebei Medical University announced that newly admitted patients and their caregivers must undergo two nucleic acid tests. Hospital visits are banned and no family or friends are allowed. In addition, all wards will be strictly controlled 24 hours access, patients and escorts are not allowed to cross visit other wards inpatients.
According to the official announcement, as of 24:00 on January 4, there have been 19 confirmed cases in Hebei province, including 6 deaths, 34 imported cases and 40 asymptomatic cases. But there has been scepticism about the official figures. According to some netizens, Shijiazhuang said Thursday that one case had led to a state of war, but there were at least six cases.
Others posted videos on overseas social media platform Twitter showing large numbers of heavily armed men spraying drugs down the street. Netizen exclaimed after seeing: “spectacular, Shijiazhuang’s biochemical elimination troops!”
