Georgia faces two U.S. Senate runoff elections January 5. With republicans holding 50 seats and Democrats holding 48, the final two seats could determine control of the Senate and how congress votes on Tuesday.
The stakes are so high that On January 4, the day before the runoff, Trump will make another trip to Joe State to campaign for the re-election of Republican Senate candidates David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. Biden will travel to Joe the same day to campaign for Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
Earlier this month, Lynwood’s lawyers filed suit in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, hoping to block Joe’s runoff. The lawsuit says Joe’s secretary of State’s office violated the law by handling absentee ballots and postal ballots in the Nov. 3 election. The state’s process for verifying signatures on absentee ballots is also flawed.
On Monday, the judge denied the injunction, saying the allegations in the lawsuit were speculative and that Lynwood lacked standing. And yesterday, Lynwood filed an emergency petition with the U.S. Supreme Court, again seeking to block a runoff.
What will it mean if republicans lose control of the Senate?
The hoover institution, a senior research fellow at the conservative scholar Victor Hansen, Davis (Victor Davis Hanson) in said on fox news last night, Democrats have taken control of the house of representatives, if their control of the senate, the first will be driven, is to establish the state of Washington, d.c., and Puerto Rico, this will bring them “a huge dividend”, for example, in the first two states to increase “four democratic senators.
Democrats will no longer be interested in “winning something,” Hansen added. “They want to change the structure, the way we govern ourselves. If they get a super Congress, which is control of both houses of congress, they will put 15 justices on the Supreme Court.”
Hansen says other things Democrats want to do include eliminating state id requirements and abolishing the Electoral College. Democrats don’t always win, he said, so they want to “make sure they win.” “This is a structural revolution and people have to wake up to it.”
