Beijing informed Shunyi aggregated epidemic source netizens: finally dumping success

On December 30, the Beijing CDC notified the source of the aggregated outbreak in Shunyi as an asymptomatic infected person reported on December 28: a 28-year-old Indonesian man. The notification said that the epidemic virus has a high homology with some strains of the virus found in Southeast Asia, and the possibility of overseas importation is high. Netizens flirted with the idea that it was so hard to finally get rid of the pot.

According to official media reports, Case 1, an Indonesian man, was the source of the cluster outbreak, which spread to Case 2 (a woman, 29 years old), a tenant in a shared house, after arriving in Beijing, and to Case 3 (a woman, 31 years old), a Shunyi Hualian superstore employee, during a shopping trip. Case 3, the key case in the chain of transmission, was transmitted to Case 4 (a male, 34 years old) during the sale of clothes in the supermarket, and Case 4 was the first reported confirmed case of the outbreak, etc. In total, the authorities listed 16 cases associated with it.

The Indonesian man, who entered the country from Indonesia on Nov. 26, was a close contact on the same flight and in the same row of seats as the first case reported from outside Indonesia in Fujian Province, the notification said. After 14 days of isolation in Fujian and a negative nucleic acid test, he arrived in Beijing on December 10 and resided in Shunyi District, where he was tested negative for nucleic acid and positive for serum IgM antibodies on December 26 and positive for nucleic acid on December 28, and was diagnosed as an asymptomatic infected person.

The briefing also said that the relevant agencies conducted a whole-genome sequencing analysis of the virus, and the results showed that the virus of the outbreak has a high homology with some strains of the virus found in Southeast Asia in November 2020, and the possibility of overseas importation is high.

However, mainland netizens still have doubts about the conclusion of this single source, and the following are some of the comments from netizens.

“After reading the news, what do you think?”

“The roommate is excellent, one is not infected.”

“Hopefully, Indonesia’s big brother infected others once, they are fine? Case three is also a ruthless character, as if others tell you a secret, you turn your head to disperse.”

“Shared roommate not infected to anyone is quite amazing.”

“Case 3 this woman is also quite powerful, 1 person infected to 5 people.”

“If that shared roommate, Xie Moumou, had symptoms on the 16th, the first time to see a doctor, and the first time to tell the doctor and have the same foreign arrivals renting together, that may be able to prevent many days earlier. “

“Hurry up to extend the quarantine time! 14 days is simply not enough!”

“Sometimes I think that if it wasn’t for the case 4, the buddy studying for his nucleic acid exam, the outbreak might have spread further…”

“It seems that the 14-day quarantine period is simply not enough to fully detect the virus, can not directly prohibit the entry of foreigners ah.”

“What is the source of Chengdu to engage people ah, do not dare to work.”

“An overseas import caused tension in the whole Beijing epidemic prevention, an industrial park affects the whole Shunyi District.”

In addition, Beijing reported one new confirmed case on Dec. 30, a 4-year-old boy. The report said his father had gone to the Qingfeng baozi store next to the Dashanzi branch of the Hanting Hotel in Chaoyang District on Dec. 13.

A video posted by netizens showed that the outbreak had reached Beijing’s Changping District on Dec. 29, with confirmed cases in Xingshou Village in Changping District, and that the village had been sealed off and all people were not allowed to travel. However, authorities said that some infected people had gone shopping in Changping District, while no related confirmed cases were reported.
