Long Beach police in Los Angeles County, S.C., announced on October 29 that authorities have arrested 58 suspects dating back to May of this year in connection with a number of social movement thefts and robberies. This is another update after the Long Beach Police Department announced on Oct. 28 that it was still looking for suspects who used the “Black Lives Matter” social movement to rob and steal, and made several arrests, this time 13 more.
The Long Beach Police Department said the suspects arrested ranged in age from 18 to 44 years old, but most were in their 20s. They were arrested in Long Beach, Signal Hill, Carson, Hawthorne, Compton, Huntington Park and Los Angeles on bail ranging from $20,000 to $125,000.
As of that day, an additional 79 people had been referred to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution, police said. The Long Beach Police Department organized a task force on June 1 this year to find suspects who used social transportation to rob homes and provide an online reporting software that allows informants to provide evidence such as photos and videos.
