Another user posted an application form for a Christmas celebration at the Taihu Catholic Church in Wuxi, filled with 12 large red stamps from various Chinese Communist Party agencies. This shows that the Chinese have to overcome many hurdles if they want to celebrate Christmas.
According to reports, several provinces and cities on the mainland issued informal documents on “celebrating Chinese holidays, not foreign ones” after the Communist Party’s Central Office and State Office issued a document in January 2017 calling for the “revitalization of traditional Chinese holidays”.

A notice from Langfang City Authority in Hebei Province shows that placing and selling Christmas trees and other Christmas-related items along the street is strictly prohibited, and if religious propaganda activities are found, they will be monitored and reported.
Several schools on the mainland have also organized students and boycotted Christmas.
